Mission Statement

:bulletpurple: Our Mission Statement :bulletpurple:
We are a group founded to show off the talents of American cosplayers. The internet and media are littered with cruel pictures depicting American cosplay as inferior and less accurate than other countries, as well as enforcing stereotypes about American cosplayers that can be hurtful. We're here to make a name for ourselves. We're here to prove that our art can be powerful, beautiful, moving, fun, striking, and creative , regardless of nationality, location, body type, gender, experience, level of skill, and any other obstacles wrongfully placed in front of us. We are here to represent America as a cosplay force, and promote a judgement-free, global interaction with other cosplayers. Let the love of cosplay act as a reason to separate our differences and bring us together!
In only a few months, we've already surpassed the expectations of many as American cosplayers, and as good ones to boot!
I'm really proud to see the great art you guys are producing. We're on our way to validating our existence, and creating a place for ourselves in this wide world of cosplay!
I can only hope that we continue to grow. Keep producing your art, and keep promoting your friends to too.
Also, if you guys are interested in doing any sort of contest, or need any information about conventions around America, I'm here to help.

Hey guys, I have to address my support for your group here! I completely agree that Americans can cosplay well. I would, however, like to bring the following site to your attention and wish to know your thoughts on it: [link]

Thank you for your time, any replies would be appreciated.

I've seen more than one of those websites.. but if they're hating on westerners, why are they calling us the racist ones??

Everytime I see that I wonder, "What the heck were they think when they created that?"

If I didn't know better I would have thought it was a mock page because those colors x.x

They're awful, aren't they? Lol. And I love how it's mainly one guy posting. FOREVER ALONE.

We frown upon discriminating anyone from cosplaying, so anti-western cosplay sites obviously are not something we like to see. Cosplay isn't something that is racist or wrong to do just because the source material is produced by a country other than our own. Anime and video games are media enjoyed in many countries and we rejoice in celebrating them as things we love and creatively draw from.
We at American-Cosplay are willing to stand as a neutral source of praise for American cosplayers under such prejudice, and as friends to cosplayers of all nationalities, genders, races, body types, and skill levels. :)

So... I thought I was submitting to the Anime and Manga folder, but, uh... everything ended up in Featured. ACK, I'M SORRY.

I don't know how it happened, and I don't know how to fix it!
